Aluminium 2014 hex bars are mainly composed of 90.9–95.0% aluminium, alloyed with 3.9–5.0% copper, 0.4–1.2% magnesium, and 0.4–1.2% manganese. Small amounts of silicon, iron, zinc, and titanium are also present to improve grain structure and mechanical stability. This alloy provides high strength, with an approximate tensile strength of 440–480 MPa and a yield strength of about 290–340 MPa, depending on heat treatment. The hardness typically ranges between 115–135 HB, offering excellent machinability and wear resistance.
